The adidas NMD XR1 PK Core Black Red finally gets a confirmed release date, and it’s coming way sooner than expected. As one of the most striking XR1’s ever to release – thanks to that blacked-out Boost unit and textured Primeknit – you can expect a sellout when these hit retailers. Here’s a closer look at this design.
The cutting-edge construct of the XR1 looks especially good with a black Primeknit crafted upper. Staying true to the original design which debuted last year, this silhouette sits higher at the ankle and features a window panel across the lace cage.
However, unlike previous models this colourway borrows style cues from the recently launched NMD R2. The Primeknit upper features lines throughout in an opposing shade of grey extending from the forefoot to the heel.
As mentioned, the addition of a full Black Boost unit is another unusual style cue – only seen once before on a previous XR1 release. To compliment, a set of tonal EVA midsole plugs are included.
To complete the look, subtle hits of red feature to the stitching at the rear as well as ‘The Brand with The Three Stripe’ insignia on the heel pull.
Good news as the adidas NMD XR1 PK Core Black Red is scheduled to launch on Thursday 6th April via the retailers listed. More confirmed stockists will be added on the run up to launch.
